Claimed helps surfers find, preview, download, and keep surf clips. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
When you create or use a Claimed account, we collect your email address, display name, account identifiers, sign-in method, security records, and the clips you claim. We also process basic service records such as request time, browser and device information, and a protected form of your network address to prevent abuse and keep the service reliable.
Surf clips may show people at a public surf break. A clip is connected to your Locker only when you claim it with the private capability issued for that clip.
If you choose Google, Claimed requests only your basic Google identity: your account identifier, email address, email-verification status, name, and profile image when available. We use this information to create, secure, or connect your Claimed account. We do not receive or store your Google password, and we do not request access to Gmail, Drive, contacts, calendars, or other Google content.
You can disconnect Google from Sign-in methods in your Locker after another sign-in method is available. Claimed’s use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
We use information to operate account access, verify email ownership, deliver password-recovery messages, display and protect clips, continue a claim you started, prevent fraud or automated abuse, diagnose outages, and improve the safety and performance of Claimed.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run Claimed—such as cloud hosting, object storage, email delivery, security, and sign-in providers—under instructions to process it for those services. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of a corporate transaction with appropriate safeguards.
Account and claimed-clip records are kept while your account or the claimed clip remains active. Unclaimed clips are normally removed after the posted retention period; sold or flagged clips may be kept longer. Short-lived sign-in, verification, reset, and claim capabilities expire or are consumed after use. We use access controls, encrypted transport, private cloud storage, and security logging, but no online service can promise absolute security.
You may choose email or Google sign-in when available, disconnect Google after adding another sign-in method, and ask us to access, correct, or delete your account information. Some records may be retained where necessary for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or legitimate business records.
Claimed is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. We may update this policy as the service changes. A material update will be identified by a new effective date and, when appropriate, an in-product notice.
